Tuesday, 04 August 2026: Copenhagen City Tour; Rosenborg Palace; Tivoli Gardens (B,L)
This morning, we embark on a guided tour of Copenhagen, once the premier capital of northern Europe, to learn more about Danish history and the Danish monarchy, which is more than 1,000 years old. We'll tour Rosenborg Palace to see the Danish Crown Jewels and the Coronation Chairs as well as the King's Gardens, Denmark's oldest. Of course, no tour of Copenhagen would be complete without a visit to the Little Mermaid, an homage to Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen, who wrote the original fairy tale. We'll enjoy lunch together and then this afternoon we'll visit Tivoli, one of the world's oldest amusement parks. The evening is yours to enjoy as you wish. Consider strolling Nyhavn, the city's 17th-century waterfront district.
Wednesday, 05 August 2026: IKEA Museum; Kosta Boda Glassworks (B,D)
Today we leave Denmark and make our way across the sound to Sweden. Sit back and enjoy the vast views our your window. Our first stop is the IKEA Museum in Almhult to learn about the fascinating history and sustainability of IKEA, a global home furnishing brand. This was the original location of the first IKEA, which began as a small mail order company in 1958. We then make our way to the Kingdom of Crystal, a region in southern Sweden where 14 glass companies are located. We tour Kosta Boda where hand-blown glass has been made since 1742. It is one of the best-known and oldest glassworks in Sweden. We then check-in to our unique hotel, which is made from glass and stone and created by world-renowned designers from Kosta Boda. We'll have dinner together at the hotel. Overnight Kosta, Sweden - 1 night
Thursday, 06 August 2026: Travel to Stockholm (B,L)
After breakfast, we make our way across the scenic landscape, a mix of forests, open land and water, to Stockholm, the capital city of Sweden. Stockholm encompasses 14 islands and more than 50 bridges on an extensive Baltic Sea archipelago. This is a long travel day but there will be stops along the way. We continue just north of the Stockholm city center to reach our hotel, which is situated in Nacka, part of Stockholm's greater urban area. We'll get settled and the evening is yours to enjoy as you wish. Overnight Nacka - 2 nights
Friday, 07 August 2026: Stockholm City Tour; Vasa Museum (B)
Sweden has been a continuous monarchy since the 10th century making it unique in the world with its historical and cultural heritage that stretches back more than a thousand years. Our city tour of Stockholm begins with a panoramic tour by coach before dropping us in Gamla Stan (the old town) to walk along narrow, cobblestone streets and admire the ochre-colored buildings. We then head to the fascinating Vasa Museum. The warship Vasa sank on her maiden voyage in 1628 as she was leaving Stockholm. In 1961, she was raised from the seabed and restored to her former glory. Embellished with hundreds of wooden sculptures, the 64-gun warship is the only almost fully intact 17th-century ship that has ever been salvaged. The rest of the day is at leisure. Perhaps you'd like to stop in at the nearby ABBA museum!
Saturday, 08 August 2026: Travel to Oslo; Oslofjord Lunch Cruise (B,L)
Today we bid farewell to Sweden on a morning flight to Oslo, capital of Norway. We'll drop the luggage at the hotel and make our way through the city center to the harbor to board a sailing vessel for a two-hour cruise of Oslofjord, passing through narrow straits and bays and glimpsing the small summer houses called hytte. Enjoy a traditional prawn lunch on board, a simple yet fresh meal that is very typically Norwegian! The rest of the day is yours to rest and enjoy as you wish. There is so much to see and do here in Oslo. Overnight Oslo - 2 nights
Sunday, 09 August 2026: Oslo City Tour; Free Afternoon (B)
We embark on a sightseeing tour of Oslo this morning and you'll soon see why the Wall Street Journal calls this the "newest capital of Nordic cool." We'll stop at Frognerparken to visit Vigeland Sculpture Park, one of Norway's most popular attractions and the world's largest sculpture park created by a single artist. The rest of the afternoon and evening are yours to explore on your own. You can visit Akershus Fortress, a medieval castle built to protect Oslo, or simply walk round Aker Brygge (the downtown wharf area). Oslo's Opera House is located right at the harbor and features an angled, white exterior that appears to rise from the water. It invites visitors to climb its roof and enjoy panoramic views of Oslo and the fjord.
Monday, 10 August 2026: Train to Myrdal; Flåm Railway; Craft Brewery & Pub Lunch (B,L,D)
We're in for a real treat today as we depart Oslo by train and head westward deep into Norway's "fjord country." This rail journey through the scenic mountainous terrain deposits us in the small town of Myrdal where we'll board another train--the legendary Flåm Railway, which has been described as the most beautiful train journey in the world. This 8-mile journey between Myrdal and Flåm is one of the steepest rail routes in the world. Upon arrival in Flåm, we will have a late lunch at the Aegir Brewery and Pub. The building is inspired by Norse mythology and is reminiscent of a wooden Stave church. Inside are driftwood walls, dragon heads and a feature fireplace that radiates warmth and coziness. They serve award-winning craft beer and Viking-inspired meals. From here, it's a short drive to our hotel. Overnight Stalheim - 2 nights
Tuesday, 11 August 2026: Fjord Cruise; Njardarheim Viking Valley (B,D)
Today, we board an environmentally friendly vessel for a two-hour cruise on the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Naerøyfjord, one of the most beautiful and dramatic in Norway. This narrow fjord is surrounded by steep mountains with waterfalls that cascade down their sheer faces. Our disembarkation point is Flåm once again. There will be time to poke around and grab lunch (on your own). We return to Gudvangen to visit Njardarheim Viking Valley and learn more about the Vikings and their 1,000-year-old history. We return to Stalheim and enjoy dinner at the hotel.
Wednesday, 12 August 2026: Hardanger Maritime Centre; Travel to Bergen (B,L)
Today we travel to Bergen through the stunning Hardanger region. The road hugs the fjords and passes through charming small towns. We'll stop at the Hardanger Maritime Centre in Norheimsund, a living museum working to keep the local traditions of wooden boat-building and repair, rope-making and blacksmithing alive. For centuries, seafaring men from this region made their living all along the western coast and fishing is still an important industry throughout Norway. Upon arrival in Bergen, the remainder of the afternoon and even are yours to enjoy. Overnight Bergen - 2 nights
Thursday, 13 August 2026: Bergen City Tour; Funicular; Bryggen and Fish Market; Farewell Dinner (B,D)
This morning we embark on a sightseeing tour of Bergen, Norway's second-most populous city with a small-town vibe. This 900-year-old city is well-known for the UNESCO World Heritage site Bryggen (Hanseatic Wharf), which is a remnant from the time Bergen was at the center of trade between Norway and the rest of Europe. Today, the wharf's wooden buildings house shops, galleries and restaurants. Our tour will take us through Bryggen, as well as the Fish Market and include a ride up Mount Fløyen on the funicular, which offers a panoramic view of the city. From here, enjoy some free time this afternoon. We regroup for our Farewell Dinner.
Friday, 14 August 2026: Return Home from Bergen (B)
Sadly, our time together has come to an end. Make your return flight at your convenience. Based on the departure time you provide WTT, your Tour Leader can help organize travelers into small groups so you can ride-share to the airport if you wish.

How Does Room Sharing Work?
On the Reservation Form there are 3 choices regarding room-sharing.

- Select "Yes, I want to share a room" and WTT will assign you a roommate when Final Travel Instructions are sent.
- You can specify a roommate by entering her name where indicated. If your named roommate is not on the tour, for any reason, WTT will assign you a roommate unless you pay to have your own room, if available.
- Select "No, I do not wish to share a room" if you want to have your own room. Additional costs apply.
- All shared rooms have 2 beds
- All shared rooms are non-smoking
- No special requests about your roommate can be accommodated
- See "Frequently Asked Questions" TAB for more details

Your Responsibilities as a Solo Traveler
As a solo traveler you are responsible for yourself, your possessions, your physical fitness, and all other aspects related to participation in the WTT tour you have chosen. Be sure to read the itinerary closely to better understand the physical requirements necessary for the tour.
WTT tours are not suitable for anyone whose mobility is challenged or compromised. If you struggle with walking, standing or negotiating stairs or if you are in doubt as to your ability to meet the physical activity requirements, you should not sign up for this trip.
What is the Group Size?
You will be introduced to the WTT Tour Leader when you receive your Final Travel Instructions, about 2-3 weeks before the tour begins.
Learn about your fellow travelers after final payment by visiting MyWTT. Room sharing assignments will be listed in the Final Travel Instructions.
What meals are included and how are dietary restrictions accommodated?
Each day of the itinerary lists the included meals for that day. When a meal is not included, the WTT Tour Leader will have suggestions for where to eat.
You do not have to dine alone unless it is your personal choice. You'll most likely be dining with new acquaintances you've made, or you can join the Tour Leader.
Dietary Restrictions on International Tours: WTT has limited to no control over food selections or variety from meal-to-meal, especially at hotels. While we do our best to accommodate dietary requests and ensure variety of options, we cannot guarantee either.
What clothing and items should I pack for this trip?
In general for this time of year, temperatures in Scandinavia during the day range from mid-60s to mid-70s, dropping to the 40s and 50s at night. Weather is generally pleasant, but can always be a bit unpredictable. We suggest you monitor weather apps before you depart for the most current information.
For this Trip You May Want—
- Sleep mask if you are sensitive to light, there may be 15+ hours of daylight during our tour
- Comfortable walking or hiking shoes
- Lightweight rain jacket
- Fleece or sweater for layering
- Sunscreen, sunglasses, and hat
- Thin gloves or knit cap — it can get chilly onboard boats
Good Packing Habits—
- Pack a limited amount of comfortable, casual clothing that layer and coordinate. Your fellow travelers will not mind or even notice – seeing you in the same clothing.
- Bring what you need to get a good night's sleep, such as ear plugs, white noise generator, sleeping pills, etc. Unfamiliar noises of all types can disrupt your rest.
- Bring only two pairs of everyday shoes: one pair of well-broken-in walking shoes, and a second pair that could do double-duty as a walking shoe or a slightly dressy shoe.
- Pare down your beauty regimen to the bare minimum and always pack travel-sized toiletries.
- Pack medication in your carry-on and pack only as much as needed for the duration of your tour plus a few extra days as a precaution.
What are the luggage restrictions for this tour?
On every WTT tour, our policies regarding luggage restrictions are driven by the physical space limitations of the vehicles we use, the requirement that all travelers be able to manage their own belongings without assistance and the restrictions imposed by other forms of transportation such as ferries and planes.
- It is best to travel as lightly as possible. Most travelers regret packing too much.
- We strongly recommend you bring only one suitcase that is a size you are able to manage on your own. Be sure to check your airline luggage policies.
- There are size restrictions for the luggage you bring on the flight to Oslo. Underseat bags can be as large as 30x40x20 cm (11x15x7 in), overhead cabin bags can be as large as 55x40x23 cm (21x15x9 in), and checked baggage can weigh as much as 23 kg (50 lbs). You will need to pay any and all charges you may incur by the airlines from overweight or oversized luggage.
- You are responsible for managing your own belongings. We expect you to take your belongings to and from the coach on days we change hotels. We do not provide luggage pulls; they are not safe and are inconvenient.
- Steps exist at most hotel entrances.
What are the phone and internet recommendations for this tour?
- You should understand what your current cell phone plan includes in terms of data and minutes. Some, like certain T-Mobile plans, include an international package.
- Contact your cell phone service provider before departing about adding an international calling plan. Most carriers have flat daily rates which will allow your US-based phone to be functional upon arrival in a foreign country.
- Managing data while traveling internationally is important. Using WiFi when available and communicating through apps like What's App help you manage data usage while traveling.
- Learn how to make an international call BEFORE you leave. Consult your cell provider and check out the website www.HowtoCallAbroad.com.
What are the electricity requirements for this tour?
How much money should I bring on this tour?
Only you can determine the optimum amount of cash to take on tour. Scandinavian countries tend to be more expensive than other European countries. When budgeting for out-of-pocket expenses, there are several aspects to consider: the number of meals you are responsible for, the amount of money you like to have on-hand for snacks and drinks, your individual shopping interests and habits, and cash for tipping
- The official currency of Denmark is the Danish Krone (DKK). Sweden's official currency is the Swedish Krona (SEK). Norway's official currency is Norwegian Krone (NOK). These currencies are not interchangable.
- ATMs are typically the best way of obtaining cash; they are found in most towns and cities. ATMS of major banks will often give much better exchange rates than currency-exchange kiosks.
- If using a debit card, it is good practice to limit the amount of cash available in the account and simply transfer money from another account if you need more at any point on tour. Always use caution when withdrawing money.
- Many travelers feel more comfortable having local currency before they depart for the tour. You may be able to order currency from your bank.
- Notify your credit card issuer that you will be traveling and provide dates of travel.
What are the tipping guidelines for this tour?
All tips to drivers and local guides who join the tour to lead individual activities will be paid on your behalf.
- You are responsible for Tipping the Scandinavian Escort who travels with the group. If you'd like a guideline, consider $80 for the entire tour.
- Service employees are generally paid well in Scandinavia, so tipping isn't compulsory but it's greatly appreciated when offered. For wait staff, a 5-10% tip for good service is appreciated. For a short taxi ride with no luggage, no tip is expected.
- You may want to tip your WTT Tour Leader for an outstanding job. The amount is entirely a personal preference. If you'd like a guideline, consider $8-$10 per day.
